World Conservation and Exhibition Centre (WCEC)
Client: British Museum
Sector: Culture and Heritage
A new building for public exhibitions and state of the art laboratories and studios.
The World Conservation and Exhibition Centre has been created within the grounds of The British Museum.
Designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) and constructed by Mace, the new centre will enable the museum to build on current successes, and to store, conserve, study and display the collection in the future.
The WCEC is one of the largest redevelopment projects in the museum’s 260 year history and will provide a new public exhibitions gallery together with state-of-the art laboratories and studios.
Lateral Technologies & Solutions Ltd are employed to ensure the new building meets the museum’s needs in terms of functionality, maintainability and compatibility with existing building, services and systems.
